Works well

I have two of the OHP6000 units in production and they have been working reliably and running without interruption for over two years. I am about to buy another for a third MOH source. My only criticism is that I wish they were stackable.

The music it comes with is very appropriate for professional business use, which means nothing edgy or “out there”. You can reprogram or expand the program by inserting an SD flash chip.

Great On Hold Music Device

Our music on hold went out and I ordered one to replace it.

The only requirements that I had are as follows:

1 — Device Must Be Easy To Use
2 — Device Must Work
3 — Must be able to play MP3s from SD card

This device does all of that.

All I have to do is put the MP3s on an SD card that is formatted with FAT (Not FAT32 or NFTS) and the device will play them. I think most of our MP3s are formatted at 128 kbps but I’m not sure of that.

The manual tells you to turn it off when switching SD cards. So what I do when I change cards is:

A — Turn Device Off
B — Take Out Old Card
C — Put In New Card
D — Turn Device On – Wait to make sure it can read the card. If it can it will start to play the first MP3 it comes to and display the data in the ID3 Tag on the MP3 — If it cannot read the card it will report that there are not files to play — Make sure you have a 1 GB SD card or less that is not HC and that it is formatted in FAT (Not FAT32, Not NTFS).
E — Press Repeat Button button on front until it shows shuffle repeat (a U-turn like icon with an S next to it)

The manufacturer’s documentation states that it must be a 1 GB SD or less. I suspect that a 2 GB SD would probably work and that the HC SDs of any size will not. The documentation also states that “Player supports best CD quality playback up to 44 kHz sampling rate at up to 192 kbps.”

I was having trouble with a 1 GB SD and then I realized that it was because it was formatted with FAT32 and not FAT. I don’t think that the documentation says that anywhere.

It comes with software to create your own On-Hold Audio files. I haven’t looked at it and probably will not ever use it.

I only gave it four stars because not being able to read FAT32, Really? Hasn’t FAT32 been around since Windows 95? That’s over 15 years, which in technology terms is many lifetimes. Also, I called technical support to ask a question and left a voice message. I figured out the problem myself but no one returned my call. No message – nothing. That’s bad, however, the device is built well enough so you probably will not need them.

I think that a 1 GB SD is plenty of space we have one SD card with 134 songs (556 Mb) on it and it’s over 8 hours of music. I would have preferred to be able to use HC SD cards but that kind of capacity is not a necessity.

Note: If you use this to play music, your supposed to play royalty free music or music that is licensed for such use. Most of our music is from the Davenport Music web site. You can find some free royalty free music on the web.

Just what we were looking for

Having gone through far too many cd players as a music on hold source, this was just what we had been looking for. Set-up was very easy and the software is also fairly easy to use.

If you are shopping around for this product watch for the amount of built in memory. It seems that the earlier release had 16mb built in and then they went to 64mb. The model number and other features remained the same (as far as I know) and there are a number of places that are still selling the original version with less memory. If you want the 64mb version just make sure that’s what they are advertising or you might be in for a surprise when you get it.

The only problem so far is that it has been several weeks and we still have not received the customized greeting. Other than that this would have been 5 stars.

Truly hands free

A great unit for those who live in “hands free” states to legally allow the use of your cell phone without taking your hands off the wheel.

The microphone for the CB radio also houses the Bluetooth microphone. You do not push the button to talk on your cell phone, but if the mike is not mounted near the driver’s face, you may need to hold it in order to be heard.

While driving in a semi, it works well to cancel out the noise of the truck from the background.

In addition, the advantages over mobile Bluetooth devices is that you do not need to recharge this unit. If you spend a lot of time in a vehicle, this is a good product for you.

Do be careful with the microphone, however. It is not the standard 4-pin microphone used on virtually all CB radios today but instead has six pins. If the microphone is damaged beyond use or must be replaced, a special microphone with the Bluetooth technology is required to continue using the unit.

Awesome way to be hands free in a truck

I have a Cobra 29LTD BT radio in the truck and it is a wonderful way to be hands free while driving, you have the option to add an external mic and have it closer to you. it is easy with a press of a button on the mic to answer a call.

Great design, easy to use.

We initially purchased one of these and after seeing how well the Bluetooth function worked with the phone, immediately purchased 3 more. We replaced an old Cobra 25 with one of these. We eventually paired 2 of them with Firesticks and 1 of with a Cobra HG A2000 antenna. After properly tuning, the sound out of these is amazingly clear. For driving together they are much better sound quality than any of our cell phones. The built in SWR meter is very easy to use. By using the built in SWR meter we calibrated each unit to at worst a 1.2 SWR. They also look great too. The chome trim and nobs create a great accent to our dashes. I expect we’ll be using these for a long time.

Very Dissapointed

I bought this for the length (6 ft). I assumed for the price I paid ($9.99 at the time I purchased it) that it would be a quality item. I used it perhaps 10 or 12 times to charge my iphone and then it suddenly just stopped working. Unfortunately, by the time I discovered it was defective, the time for return had expired. The return policy does not provide adequate time for an item such as this that one only uses ocassionally. So, I basically wasted ten dollars on what appeared to be a “throw-away” item. I am very, very disappointed in both the maunfacturer and Amazon for not standing behind the product. I tried to insert the link for the product but it says not found so perhaps they have now removed this defective product?

Decent Cable

I’ve been using this cable for about a week now and it is working as advertised on my iPhone 3GS 16Gb. I’m running the 4.3.3 update on my phone right now using this cable and it’s working great! Charge times are about the same as with the original Apple cable. It is a true 6′, plus connectors for those that need the extra inches. The look and feel is very much like the original, only longer. The only difference I can see is that the cable jacket has a grayish tone instead of stark white like the Apple one is, the connectors are identical (even has the markings).

All in all it’s a decent cable that I would recommend to anyone needing a longer cable.

Panasonic RX-D45GC portable stereo

Amazon’s product description is wrong. Panasonic’s RX-D45GC portable stereo does NOT have a microphone input, and it cannot play MP3 CDs. The product description doesn’t mention it, but this Panasonic does not come with a remote control either, so there is no way to go directly to a particular track. If you want Panasonic quality, consider the more expensive Panasonic RX-D55GC in the black case. It doesn’t have a microphone input either, but it has everything else and excellent sound quality. Incidentally, the seller is very reliable and is not responsible for the incorrect description.

Ok But one very big problem

Have always liked panasonic products since to me they have always lasted quite a long time and are well built.Real fince products.This product seems to be well made as well and sounds very nice too. The problem is that it simply isnt loud enough.It cuts at at a 50 reading on the volume level and for 110 dollars (including shipping etc)this stereo clearly should play a bit louder.Maybe they should have made it 80-100 watts.At 60 watts it should be priced at about half of what they are charging.What could it cost panasonic the up the watts a bit? Another 5 dollars in cost?

Anyway still a a nice sounding stereo,just be prepared for some sound level limitations.

Simple and Effective

Since I work out a lot, I needed a product that would accomodate my Zune during my workouts and allow easy access to the interface. This has done the job just fine. Keep in mind that the silicone case is meant for armband use and offers minimal protection. The clearcase is obviously sturdy but somewhat unattractive while the belt clip is flimsy and is not one that I would use for fear of it breaking. Altogether though, the price makes it a good purchase if you’re in need of a way to keep your Zune available during those workouts.

Pros:
- Simple installation
- Zune interface is accessible
- Extra protection (Clear case)
- Screen protector

Cons:
- Product is a little thin and can tear
- Minimal protection for the product (Silicone case)
- Belt clip is flimsy

Items Resemble Price

I love my Zune HD and I really wanted a nice case and armband for my workouts. The silicone skin, armband, keychain and screen protectors were satisfactory to my needs. They keychain is kind of fun and a nice way to keep my headphones from getting tied in knots, but the clear case with the clip attachment had some faults. The instructions seemed very clear. Unscrew the round pieces and attach them onto the hard case. The only problem with that is that the pieces weren’t large enough to attach strongly with the case between them, causing them to pop apart and your Zune to fall to the floor (not good). I had no reason to ever need to detach the clip from the case, so I simply super glued the clip attachment onto the case. It works perfectly for me, but it may be a possible problem for some people.

great stuffs

i like everything about this set, except the elastic arm band is small. to small to comfortably fit around my slightly flabby arms. the hard plastic case fits like a glove and it deffinetly not easy to get off (witch is good) the belt clip is kinda thin and flimsy but it has held up well. i dont use the rubber case, but i put it on the zune when i first got it, snd it fit well. so all in all it is a very good product

I love it!

To get a bluetooth hands free device that also plays my music through my car’s sound system for only 80 bucks I think is a sweet deal! I’ve had it for about a week, it’s been working great and I love it! The sound quality seems the same as any other radio station. That includes the fact that when people call and I hear them through my speakers, they sound like someone calling into a radio station, which is kind of cool. Haven’t made many calls using bluetooth yet, but so far the person on the other line says they can’t even tell I’m using a hands free device.

Pros:
- It’s a great idea that works well.
- The price is reasonable.
- I love being able to play music from a flash drive or an SD card.
- It remembers the last song that was playing when I turned the car off and picks back up with that song when I start driving again.
- The music pauses automatically when a call comes in and it shows the number of the incoming call on its screen.
- You can either clip the mic on to your shirt or seat belt when you want to use it, or it comes with a different clip that attaches to your visor so it’s always ready to go. They provide two adhesive clips for the wire to fit into so you can guide the wire along a non-obtrusive path.

Cons:
- You need to use your phone to make a call; pressing the call button on the device redials the last number, rather than activating voice command.
- When playing from USB/SD card, it only supports 1999 songs and 20 folders. The music also must be in a folder named MP3 or Soundfly. This means that if you sync with Windows Media player, you will need to select the option for it to not create a folder hierarchy (otherwise it creates a folder for each artist) and then copy the songs from the root directory on the drive to the MP3/Soundfly directory.
- It can’t read songs with any digital rights info (though I think this is pretty common).
- The users manual and packaging have a bunch of grammatical mistakes. The English was clearly either translated with some mistakes or written by someone who is not fluent.
- Most of the buttons and functionality are through the remote, which must be pointed directly at the device (I don’t find it necessary to use it very often, though).

I haven’t found any of these cons to be a big deal, though, just minor things that leave some room for improvement. I would say this a great product, which I am recommending to my friends and family.

A Great All-in-One Solution!

Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/R16LUMBY0CAVXG Through the years I have used several FM modulators and I have used several Bluetooth devices, but the Soundfly BT is the first Bluetooth/FM modulator that is completely integrated. What this means is that you have one device that will allow you to play your iPod/iPhone over your car’s speakers and also have the ability to make hands free calls. The Soundfly BT also comes with a handy little remote control that can help you change FM stations on the modulator, answer phone calls, and give you total control over your music.

Before we go into the review – some people are not familiar with how a FM modulator works. What it does is that it transmits a signal form a device to a static-filled FM station. What this means is that you find a station that does not have anything broadcasted on it …say… 87.9 (depending on where you live)… and you set both the FM Modulator and your radio to that station. The FM Modulator then *broadcasts* a signal to the previously static filled station.

A couple of caveats to this review. I am reviewing this exclusively as an accessory to an iPod Touch/iPhone (Gen 4). I did not try using the SD card for playing music…since I really don’t have a need since we store all of our music on our iPods.

Features

+Excellent FM Modulator. While no FM modulator is *perfect* this one is the closet that I have come across.

+ The remote control offers a lot of functionality. It allows you to answer calls, change stations on the FM Modulator, change the volume (which is a neat trick), shuffle through folders, advance and skip songs. I am REALLY surprised at how often I use the remote

+ Sound quality for phone calls is very good. Much better than I expected. The person you are talking to knows that they are on speaker phone, but the interference seems to be minimal.

+ Well-designed – everything seems to make sense – such as the way the Soundfly BT can pivot to fit into almost every 12V power source.

+ It has a USB power source! This allows you to charge/power any device that plugs into your computers USB port.

Areas of Concerns

- Don’t lose the manual! I looked (briefly) and wasn’t able to find a copy of the manual online… it may be there…if so could you leave me a comment?

- About 25-50% of the time the Bluetooth does not seem to sync with my iPod. While my iPod shows that it is paired with the Soundfly BT I am unable to get music to play. I am able to solve the problem by powering my iPod off and back on. It is a bit of an annoyance, which is why I am taking off 1/2 star.

- Not overly intuitive on how to operate (outside of the remote) or to pair the Soundfly BT with your iPod/iPhone. For reference – press the *Green* phone key until you hear an audible beep over your speakers. Once the Soundfly BT is found by your device use the code “0000″ to pair the devices.

- I wish that the Soundfly BT had an integrated microphone. The wired microphone works well, but I prefer not having extra wires hanging around my dashboard.

Final Verdict – While there are a couple of minor issues I am very happy with the Soundfly BT. There are tons of positive features with the Soundfly BT that makes it well worth the purchase price!

Great Buy

I bought this product after seeing the review over here. I had VR3 USB-SD transmitter for over 4 years and was looking for new one after it broke.
First and foremost, the Satechi service is excellent, very prompt response and prompt delivery. I Could give 10 stars for their support.

Pros on this product,

i) Bluetooth and MP3 Player with stereo FM transmitter
ii) The remote works for folder froward and track forward (lagged in VR3)
iii) Quality of FM transmission, constant stereo transmission with good signal.

CONS:

i) Limited folder level, Satechi should bring some Firmware to recognise more folders (VR3 has unlimited folder level)
ii) Remote power is weak, should plan to improve on this. works only line of site, maximum 3 feet away (in car it doesnt matter, but you have to have your hand pointed towards the unit, depending on model, could be painful).

iii) Not all the functions available in the unit, if you loose remote you loose,
– Save or book mark option
– A-B option
– Folder switch option

When I received the product, I was surprised with the quality of the sound in FM, it was near CD quality, when I used VR3, I could see a huge difference in the audio quality using SD and USB disks. When I connect external source (cd player or computer and transmit, the volume is much better and the range of reception is about 35 feet with walls in between. I plugged this unit with wall power adapter, and used portable player to transmit, then I could receive signal in basement and second floor without any problems.

After 4 days, using bluetooth in car, the receiver could not hear me clearly and the remote I received I had to hold very close to the unit (literally less than 2 inches). I was little upset due to this considering the price I paid. (may be mine was one of the unlucky one’s)

Sent a mail to support in Satechi, less than two hours, received prompt response, with couple of mails, then arranged for replacement unit. for some reason it got delayed, but the serveice repsentative was curteous and helpfull tracking the package and made sure it is picked up on following day. Due to their response, I even kind of forgot on the issue and cooled down. was looking forward the new unit. It arrived two days ago and testing. So far so good, the MP is working really good and remote works about 3 feet from the unit (useful when I connect this at home). On bluetooth connectivity I am still need to test fully, so far it appears to be okay, the receiver is able to hear me okay. have to try during long drive and check. will update my posting soon on this.

Over all great product, if they over come the short falls (directory recognition and increased power on remote,) I would give them 5 Stars.

Compare to Vr3, much better product, there is very low interference and static. I would recommend this product.

As promised, I am updating my experience with Bluetooth

So far so good, when I drive in city the bluetooth quality is good at the receiving end, but when I drive in Highway at 70 to 75 MPH, the receiver complained I am breaking. It appears that mic is too sensitive and picking up the vehicle vibration, I am still trying to get an optimum location for the mic to reduce outside noise. Since within city limit, the quality is good I am not worried much.

Also, the sound quality on my radio in the car is really really good. So Bluetooth works for me. I am not planning to return this product, I recommend this to any one looking for great quality of sound and a versatile product.

On FM transmitter, the power is sufficient enough to suppress a moderate radio signal (88.5 is NPR station in Dayton, I am able to suppress this thru this unit). So as far as static is concerned it is virtually null if use free or moderate station channel.

Return on Cost is good compare to options I explored like Parot and other dealer supplied Bluetooth units.

Over all I will give 4.5 for this, giving room for other improvements suggested earlier.

Satechi, Great product, looking for advanced one in future from you. Your customer service Rocks!!!!!!!! Great and thanks a ton for a good product.

Sensitive reception, touchy volume knob, fragile FM antenna

This radio is impossibly small and has unexpectly good sound through the external speaker. I bought it only for external listening but I can say that the earphone is compatible with stereo headphones–that is to say that it plays monaural audio through both earphone channels.

The AM reception is superb. I don’t know how they did it in such a small package; perhaps they used their experience with shortware receivers in this radio. Very sensitive FM reception but it has a touch too much resistance for fine tuning. On the other hand, the volume knob needs much more resistance because I found myself accidentally muting or blasting the audio. It also has a rather fragile FM antenna that does not swivel or sweep at all–you bend it, you break it.

At this size it’s a good compromise. The FM is nothing to write home about but the AM reception is just incredible for such a tiny radio.

Worth it

I was looking for a small pocket radio for pocket change. This is that radio. For the change I paid, I am happy it did not have any bells and whistles (it doesnt even come with an earphone, flimsy cover or crappy demo batteries). Every penny seems to have gone into the core components and it does an excellent job of catching am and fm waves and converting them to audio. Wonderful AM/FM EDC Pocket Radio

I got this radio yesterday and was surprised by the
Kaito KA200 build quality, strong performance, and
surprising sound for its size and price point.

I carry this pocket radio in my Rickshaw Zero messenger
bag that I use for everyday carry (EDC).

For such a small pocket radio, the KA200 represents
a solid value…and the best part is you don’t need
a manual to operate.

Sangean’s latest digital RCR-5 AM/FM clock radio is as beautiful as it is distinctive supplying features and performance in general found in the most costly clock radios. Dual Alarm Timers for both “Waking Up to Radio” and/or “Waking up to HWS Buzzer” at dissimilar times for week days, weekends, daily or just once. Has both “Sleep” and “Nap” and “Snooze” timers if you need a little extra sleep. “Aux” input allows listening to your CD or any audio device through the RCR-5 radio.

Most Impressive!

I have nothing but praise for the Sangean RCR-5 clock radio. Specifically, here are the most noteworthy aspects of this truly amazing product:

Display
Here is where the RCR-5 truly shines, as it incorporates a backlit LCD with adjustable intensity: one may adjust the backlight to suit your needs, so you have a perfectly legible, yet not too bright display (at night) which can never be “washed out”, even in direct sunlight. The display even has a clever feature whereby it will illuminate to full intensity when any of the buttons are pressed, after which it returns to the user’s preset intensity after ten seconds. As you can see from the product photos, the display is of a soft, warm color, most conducive to a good sleeping environment; other clock radios using bright blue or green illumination, IMHO, should be avoided if you want to get any sleep.

Auxiliary Input
Very useful for listening to my podcasts at night; when an external source is attached, the Band button will cycle through AM/FM/AU; when none is attached, only AM/FM are available, thereby eliminating “clutter” for those who do not wish to enable this feature. (Note: I’m old-school, and prefer using this method over a “Dockable” iPod solution, as I prefer to completely run my iPod’s battery source to zero before recharging…)

Flexibility in Programming
Only found on more expensive clock radios, this model will allow you to use the “Sleep” feature to listen to a particular station (or podcast with the Auxiliary feature) at night, and then to wake to radio on a different station. In addition, all alarms allow Daily, Mon-Fri, or Single, with the Audible Alarm using a gentle “ramp-up” feature.

Reception and Speaker Quality
The radio’s receiver portion of this product is very good, rivaled by only my Sony short wave receiver (a great radio, by the way!); what looks like a 3-inch speaker provides a very warm, intelligible output, very suitable for the spoken word, adequate for music. If you need a strong system for powerful music, I would suggest purchasing an additional desktop speaker setup (such as for a computer) which can be attached to the headphone output by means of a standard mini-jack connection.

Finally, a no-nonsense Sleep function
Sangean has cleverly incorporated the Sleep function into the Power button (which is gently illuminated when the radio’s off); to turn the radio on or off, press the button. To use the Sleep feature, press and hold the same button to select up to 120 minutes. Simple, effective, “it just works”.

Final Recommendation
Well, what more can I say? This product works for me (and I’m purchasing three more for gifts) and has a lot going for it, including high value (very reasonably priced!). Is there anything that you should be aware of? Yes:

> As described in the previous customer’s entry, setting the alarm may require a few extra key-strokes, as this product offers many options when it comes to waking by either the alarm or the radio; if you do not need all of these features, you may wish to consider something of simpler means. That being said, it took me only about 22 seconds to set the alarm; for me, it was relatively intuitive and logical.

> The built-in battery back up feature only works for about ten minutes worth of backup, according to the manual; in my neck of the woods, this is not a big issue, but should be noted if you experience many nighttime blackouts where you are located.

> Even though this model is referred to as an “RCR-5″, it should be noted that it does not employ an automatic time synchronization feature as is found on Sangean’s higher end clock radios. (Not a big issue for me, and may actually be desirable for those of us who prefer to set our clocks 5, 10, or 15 minutes fast to “keep us on time”!)

a QUALITY clock radio…

I have to say that I’m quite impressed by the QUALITY of the Sangean RCR-5 clock radio. Quite a bit of great detail has already been mentioned in a fine way by a previous reviewer. I just have to say that I’m really impressed at how clear the radio reception is…absolutely NO drift, it locks onto the radio frequency and stays there! And the sound from the speaker (even if it is just a single speaker) is rather impressive…I’ve never heard a speaker sound so clear, crisp, and distinct, whether it be music or spoken word! I also like how smooth the volume control feels. It keeps great time with an easy-to-view display, and wakes you up comfortably with its “humane waking system.” Some people have noted that the settings for the clock are too complex and complicated, but I frankly didn’t experience any problems in that sense. Of course, it does not have the atomic clock updating, nor does it have a built-in cd player, but it does have the auxillary input, if you wanted to connect a cd player or mp3 player. Overall, I have to say that certainly alot of thought has gone into the designing of the Sangean RCR-5…this certainly is NO ordinary clock radio…it’s a finely-crafted instrument!

High Quality Digital Clock Radio that looks like one too!

I started realizing the quality of this radio as soon as I held the box it came in. It’s well packaged in heavy cardboard throughout. Take the radio out and look it over; you can tell this is not your everyday clock radio you find in all the stores. It’s built solid and the buttons and controls feel solid. The sound is much better than any clock radio I’ve ever owned in this price range. The display is easy to see from all angles and not too brite. The amber is soft on your eyes unlike some of the blues and greens out there. Setting the alarms is slightless less intuitive then it could be but it’s easy once you do it a few times (the reason for the 4 out of 5 stars). Products like this are few and far between these days. High quality and does what it is made to do very well without looking like an alien aircraft with unessessary bells and whistles. Very possibly the best engineered clock radio for under $50. Im very happy with my purchase.

Not Worth the Money

I bought this case back in December and it is now almost May and the case keeps coming off of my iPod. The crystals have chipped away and it is just overall bad. I wish I hadn’t bought this, it was a true waste of money.

So mesedt up

i ordered this case and i got it within 2 days. It is so pretty but so fake and a little more metallic then how it looks on the picture, which is a good thing. none of the gems have fallen off and the case fits tight on the ipod. all in all this is a stupid case. This case after about a month the gems started to fall off. i will edvice you not to get this ugly case!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cute case

My little sis in law LOVES hello kitty & I knew for Christmas that my inlaws were getting her an ipod touch. Well, I saw this & thought this is definitely her. Ordered it, took about 3-4 days since I ordered so close to the holiday, but when I received it was completely upset. There were two corners where the paint and rhinestones were torn off. I contacted the seller, complained of my issue & got an email back later that evening saying a new one was in the mail & apologizing for the damage. I got the new one in 2 days and it.was perfect. & even better, my sis in law adores it!
